Education does not mean to teach everything. A medical doctor is educated in medical field so he can solve the problems concerning health.
An engineer is a professional who is educated in field of engineering. An engineer should never try to do surgery. He can do it only if he is educated in that area also.
Priesthood is also a profession. A priest survives with his profession.
So a doctor should not do what a priest does for a living and a priest should not what a doctor does unless they have enough education in the respective area.
A Christian priest is not useful to a Muslim or another faith. This is the same case with priests of any faith. A priest should never do counseling which is the profession of counselor or a psychologist. He should only read verses from his faith. So a person who wants to know more about a faith should go to a priest of that faith.
Today in Kerala spirituality is a profession were a person can become very rich within a short time. The fact is that he knows and is aware of the dangers he is spreading in our society. He is 100% aware that he cannot cure illness. He is also sure that he cannot remove poverty. But he has to survive.
Remember Darwin's term of 'Survival of the fittest'.
Hundreds of deaths could have been avoided, had those victims gone directly to a hospital instead of seeking a spiritual leader’s advice. Hundreds have stranded because of these spiritual leader’s advice.
It is the special property of spirituality that make the victims to listen to these leaders again.
It is next to impossible to make a believer understand about the corruption due to spirituality. Still through this portal, we will give a try.

വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ലോകത്തിലെ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളും പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഡോക്ടര് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ഒരാള്ക്ക് വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തില് അറിവുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ആരോഗ്യപരമായ പല കാര്യങ്ങളിലും അയാള്ക്ക് സഹായിക്കാന് കഴിയും.
എന്ജിനീയര് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ഒരാള്ക്ക് ആ മേഘലയില് നല്ല അറിവ് ഉണ്ടാകും. എന്നാല്, എന്ജിനീയര് ഒരിക്കലും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ ചെയ്യാന് ശ്രമിക്കരുത്. ആ മേഘലയില് വേണ്ടത്ര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമില്ലാതെ അത് ചെയ്യുവാന് പാടില്ല.
ഇന്ന് ലോകത്തില് അനേകം തൊഴിലുകളുണ്ട്. അതാതു മേഘലയില് അറിവ് സമ്പാദിക്കാതെ വെറുതെ പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നതില് അര്ത്ഥമില്ല
പൌരോഹിത്യം ഒരു തൊഴിലാകുന്നു. ആ തൊഴിലില് നിന്നും കിട്ടുന്ന ആദായം കൊണ്ട് പുരോഹിതര് ജീവിക്കുന്നു.
ഒരു ഡോക്ടര് പുരോഹിതന്റെ തൊഴിലും, പുരോഹിതന് ഡോക്ടറിന്റെ തൊഴിലും അറിവ് ലഭിക്കാതെ ചെയ്യുവാന് പാടില്ല.
ക്രിസ്തുമതത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതനെക്കൊണ്ട് ഇസ്ലാം അല്ലെങ്കില് മറ്റൊരു മതക്കാരന് പ്രയോജനമുണ്ടെന്നു തോന്നുന്നില്ല. ഇതുതന്നെയാണ് മറ്റു മതത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ കാര്യമെടുത്താലും.
പുരോഹിതന് സൈക്കോളൊജിസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഉപദേശങ്ങള് അഥവാ പ്രവര്ത്തികള് ചെയ്യുവാന് പാടില്ല. അതാതു മതത്തിന്റെ അറിവിന് വേണ്ടി മാത്രം അവരെ സമീപിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഉത്തമം.
ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തില്, വളരെ ചെറിയ സമയത്തിനുള്ളില് ഒരാളെ ധനവാനായി മാറ്റാന് കഴിയുന്ന തൊഴിലായി, ആത്മീയത, മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു. സമൂഹത്തില് അവര് വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന നാശം എന്തെന്ന് ശരിക്കും ബോധവാന്മാരായിത്തന്നെയാണ് അവര് ഓരോ പ്രവൃത്തികളും ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അവര്ക്ക് ഒരു അസുഖവും ഭേദമാക്കാന് കഴിയില്ലെന്ന് വ്യക്തമായി അറിവുള്ളതാണ്. ദാരിദ്ര്യം അകറ്റാനും കഴിവില്ലെന്ന് അവര്ക്കറിയാം. എന്നാല് അവര്ക്കും ജീവിക്കണം.
പുരോഹിതരുടെ ഉപദേശം സ്വീകരിക്കാതെ ആശുപത്രിയില് പോയിരുന്നെങ്കില് അനേകം ആളുകളുടെ ജീവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു. അനേകായിരങ്ങള് ഇക്കൂട്ടരുടെ ഉപദേശത്താല് ജീവിതം നശിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഇതേ ആളുകളുടെ ഉപദേശം വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും കേള്ക്കുക എന്നത് ആത്മീയതയുടെ പ്രത്യേക സ്വഭാവമാകുന്നു.
